35 !!

Season ski days to date.... 35. I'll try to get 40 now. Went to Copper with "BB" that's Bond, Bob Bond. I spotted ol' Frank on the 1st chair up. Just as it did yesterday, the weather turned for the worse upon our arrival, but it was better than yesterday, we even found some nice powder turns. I'm really getting over the spring breakers and wish they would go home. Some D.B. figured out that a flip phone can fit up into a helmet and stay there with no hands, so now every jackass has to do it and do they ever. So please anyone who reads this... please leave your phone when you ski or ride. On mountain time is quality time ,quit shattering the silence with your blathering and beeping, I may just ski by and slap your cell right off of your face. If I get any saltier, the snow around me is gonna melt even faster so I'd better stop ranting,

Reverse Midas Touch

The sun was bright, streams careened through the parking lot, ahh spring skiing... not, no sooner did I load onto my first chair of the day at the Jane than did the blue skies get munched by an afternoon squall from the Fraser Valley. It turned slushy bumps with good visibility, into giant icy death mounds with snow snakes grabbing at my skis from the brownish troughs, I toughed it out for a bit, then I booked, the weather appropriately turned nice soon after. oh woe. Only a normal storm...

The "BIG" storm predicted for yesterday and today was not all that "big" after all. However the Jane did have 6-7" of fresh stuff today, and aside from all those spring breakers it was very nice. Gary (G to the R) even reported a face shot of powder. He also ate a little humble pie today on a certain rock band in a steep section of trees, but luckily he ate no shit. Pics of me in the trees and a cool tweaked image of Gary.

A Change in the Weather.

When I left home to go to Copper, 'twas sunny and 55 degrees, approaching the tunnel, I nearly fishtailed and lost control beacause of the roads( & gremlins). When I arrived it was 23 degrees and blizzard conditions, I should've known better than to expect a nice day this volatile time of year. All the wind was blowing that snow somewhere...somewhere that I headed to. For a short afternoon storm I skiied some very nice 4-5 " of fresh stuff. The bumps were much nicer to me with some cushion blanketing them, and the "breakers" were too timid for any of that action...tubing seemed to be the hot activity today for tourists, Only 3 more days to reach my season goal.

Only day this week.

I was very lame , only going out once this week (thurs.) After the warm weather softened everything up, the return of winter made it nice n' icy again, so no rush to get back until the Jane reported 6". The spring break crowds had me searching a little harder for fresh stuff, but I found some good pow. I also found myself on some of those wicked Mary Jane Volkswagon Beetle sized bumps (ouch!). The flat light pretty much blew, but a couple of times the guy from the Raisin Bran box (sans scoops) made a brief appearance. All in all... an ok day. shussin' wulf
