Spring Skiing

The Red and I jumped right into the Patrol Chute, it kinda looked like the edge of a toilet bowl. Fortunately nothing smelly @ the bottom. It was downright balmy out today @ COPPER. I used some photoshop tricks to put together a cool image with "G to the R." He looks like he skied right through that tight chute , but he actually wrecked more than once, I'll post one...enjoy. SW

ALTA ROCKS (1/20/06)

READY OR NOT, SALT LAKE CITY TOOK US IN LATE SUNDAY NIGHT AFTER 9 HRS. OF DRIVING AT NIGHT.THE SHUST & I DECIDED TO TRY ALTA ON MONDAY AM. THIS WAS PRESIDENTS DAY AND SUPPOSEDLY ALTAS BUSIEST SINGLE DAY OF THE SEASON,THE FIRST HOUR SURE SEEMED LIKE IT, BUT AS PEOPLE DROPPED OFF FOR LUNCH THE LINES DIED DOWN AND WE GOT TO CHECK THINGS OUT.THE MOUNTAIN EVENTUALLY KICKED OUR ASS, AND RETURNING CROWDS DROVE US BACK TO SALT LAKE BEFORE THE TRAFFIC. I'D LOVE TO COME BACK ON A WEEKDAY FOR ANOTHER SHOT AT ALTAS WORLD CLASS POWDERY STEEPS.SPEAKING OF POWDER, CHECK OUT THE SHUST'S POWDER STRAPS ON HIS SKIS...THAT'S "OLD SCHOOL". SW

SNOWBIRD TUESDAY 2/21

THE DAY STARTED OUT CLEAR AND COLD AND BECAME JUST COLD, BUT NOT BEFORE TEARING UP SOME OF SNOWBIRDS STEEPS WITH THE SHUST. THIS WAS AN AMAZING PLACE AND WILL COME BACK POSSIBLY SOMEDAY... POSSIBLY.

ALL GOOD THINGS....

IT SEEMS THAT ALL THOSE GREAT POWDER DAYS SO FAR THIS YEAR HAVE GONE AND SPOILED US. IT'S BEEN SUBPAR ON THE HILL THIS WEEK, I ALMOST FELL ASLEEP WHILE OUT TODAY WITH B.B. LACK OF SLEEP MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED AS WELL. SKIED WITH THE "WICH" AND FRIENDS YESTERDAY (MON.), IT WAS A MOTLEY CRUE INDEED. OVERCAST AND FLAT LIGHT PREVENTED ANY GOOD PHOTO OPS. THE GOOD NEWS... NO WASTED SUNSCREEN.IT LOOKS LIKE SALT LAKE CITY NEXT WEEK. 2 OR 3 DAYS OF SKIIN' W/ THE SHUST. LITTLE FEAT PLAYS DOWNTOWN ON TUES NITE, WEEEEEE. SW

Just an average day @ COPPER skiwise, weather was beautiful though. I Explored some places I hadn't been in a while. Got some shots of the "SKY" chutes and highlighted em'. Upper Indian Ridge and my favorite bump run are included as well...BIG SKI TRIP... coming soon...stay tuned. SW

Hikin' to Vasquez

Being solo today, I decide to forego a warmup and I headed right to Vasquez (1st time this season). I photo documented my journey with some cool panorama's and a mosaic ( 4 pics) of the chute that was my 1st run. I had some new tunes with me today, Pepper, The White Stripes, The Darkness, some Foo, Velvet Revolver,Easy Dub All-Stars, and even a helping of Lemon Jelly provided an excellent soundtrack to todays adventures. THE DAY AFTER

I ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT OUT TODAY,AS I CELEBRATED PRETTY HARD ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY. GERRIT THE RED MOTIVATED ME TO GO AND IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. DAY 22 WAS A BLUEBIRD WITH MORE FRESH TURNS THROUGH SUGARY POWDER.... SWEET. SW

The Waiting

"Friday...it's the new Saturday." At least it seemed that way on Friday. Weather and crowds had us in the car for nearly 5 hours, but 2.5 hours of skiing even more powder,
made it worth it. My friends, B.B. & Dr. John (B.B. was throwing gang signs.) joined me as it dumped snow all day. It was brutally windy and cold up top with occasional whiteouts, frozen extremities eventually drove us off the hill, and back to the car for the long drive home and more waiting. LETS GO STEELERS!!!

DUMPIN' AGIN' !

It's just not supposed to be this good, yet it was another stellar afternoon @ the Jane.
Hard to say how much today,but the powder was knee to mid thigh deep. The upper lift was closed...today...I think I might check back tommorrow. If not ,this may be it until S.B. XL... GO STEELERS! ... SWMight
